The Most Beautiful Movie Of 2009: Avatar

Avatar is a movie like no other out there, simply a masterpiece created by director James Cameron. It compares to his great blockbuster movies such as Titanic and the Terminator Series. Audiences who’ve watched the movie in 3-D have been truly amazed by the detail and realistic qualities of a film in which half of the characters are computer generated. Stunning visual effects and impressive use of 3-D graphics takes viewers out of their seats and puts them right into the movie. Remarkable imaginations and artistic qualities of everyone who has worked on creating the film set a new level in the film making industry.

Avatar is situated in the year 2154 and centered around a handicapped marine named Jake who lost his legs on a mission on Earth. The movie begins with Jake waking up from a 5 year trip to a moon called Pandora that is several light years away. He ended up signing up for a high-level corporate and military mission his brother Tom (who was a scientist) was working on and had died because he shared his genome structure.

On Pandora there a beings known as the navis who have sparkly blue skin and are 10 feet tall with tails and big eyes. The Avatar project, the one that Jake has signed up for, has created human-navi hybrids which can be linked and controlled by humans. The first thing that Jake does while controlling his Avatar is run as he hasn’t felt the motion of walking ever since he lost his legs.

The marines under the command of Colonel Miles Quartich want to launch an attack and capture the unobtanium (which is a rare mineral used for energy on Earth) deposits that lie underneath where the navis live, and the colonel wants Jake to act as a covert mission to find out more about the navis in order to create a strategy for that purpose. While, the scientists under the lead of Dr. Grace Augustine want to make scientific discoveries and findings through the use of Avatars and well as find a peaceful way of getting the unobtanium.

A young female by the name Neytiri finds Jake after he gets attacked by a Thanator and separated from his friends while on a mission. She takes him to the navi tribe where the leaders are angry at first but end up accepting Jake and assign Neytiri to teach him the ways of the navi. Jake ends up following in love with Neytiri, but after a whole bunch of adventures where the director takes us through breath-taking visual and sound effects as Jake learns the ways of the navi.

This is where the real problem begins as the humans start advancing on the navis and attack them, and Jake battles with his emotions in which he ultimately sides with the navis and leads them in a battle against the humans to save the beauty and the ways of the navi which he has learned through his training process and which he holds more valuable than the humans’ objectives. Again, the director uses fantastic 3-D effects and wows the audience and gives his audiences the most realistic experience possible .
