The Change From Knight & Day August 15, 2010
Two people meet and they couldn’t be more different. One is getting ready to follow her normal routine in her typical day. The other is on the run, as is typical for his life. Not matter what the combination, Knight & Day brings together two popular characters that compliment each other. They find a way to make it work and being so different appears to have it’s benefits. There is a bit of a reluctant feeling in the beginning, but time, people and situations change that.
A chase scene can capture audiences attention when the action is on the edge of dangerous situations where you can’t see a way out. Most of this movie involves a different chase of some kind that keeps you guessing and wondering what the ending will bring. It may not be your obvious chase scene, but there is always someone looking for something in order to figure out a piece of the puzzle.
A love story begins during the movie that is comical and heartfelt. The one liners and references to moments they share reflect a relationship that grows over time. As they learn more about each other, they become closer and closer. It’s a complicated issue filled with chase scenes, moments of truth and occasional unconsciousness.
The story and life behind each person reflects a little about where they came from. As time continues and their paths continue to cross, each person is lead intimately deeper into the lives each other leads. From one sisters wedding to parents that have no idea what has become of their son, the emotions start to roll as the situation gets more and more complex.
An initial reaction to this movie could appear to be the action that is enhanced in the promotions. A few lines that keep you laughing show the comedy that makes the action all that more unique. Attention is given to the fact that these are real people in a difficult situation trying to make the most of it. Sometimes you laugh in a tough situation and sometimes you cry.
As new times and places appear throughout the movie, you see the creativity that was put into each scene. From a chase scene on the slim streets of a busy city to a desolate island where no man has tarnished it with urban life. Many places are a simplistic place of peace and quiet that can only be found by traveling near and far. The colors that enhance the characters also bring out the imagination behind the creativity.
Typically, the bad guys are never very smart and that continues to show how the good guys are always one step ahead. Needing to be one step ahead in order to survive is the name of the game. From shooting guns, dodging bullets and crashing cars to lengthy conversations that ensue show the depth of each situation.
A double meaning is reflected in actions and non-actions shown throughout. When you want to watch something that will make you laugh and cry at the same time, this is one of those moments when you’ll want to pick Knight & Day. You will see that love can conquer many things and that good guys can get hurt, yet still win in the end.
