How To Relax And Feel At Peace? August 2, 2010

I love to read. I read anything I can find, from Science Fiction novels, to Agatha Christie mysteries. Due to this, the library was a place I’d visit often. I appreciated the quiet atmosphere and I could find pretty much any book i wanted. However, due to poor management, the library was closed, and I’ve not heard of plans to open another one.

Since nothing I could do would change this decision, I was left with nothing to do but to find another place in which to do my reading, that offered the same conditions as the library. I figured the park would be a good choice, and I decided to go check it out. I quickly found a good spot that was far away from the regular paths, so people would not come by, and offered the necessary peace and quiet. I thought it was too good to be true, but I decided to try it the next day.

It was in fact too good to be true, as I discovered the next day. The place was filled with kids running around playing and making reading impossible. Since I liked the spot so much, and so did the children, I decided to look for something to reduce the noise to the minimum and allow me to concentrate on my books.

I opted for the purchase of an mp3 player, with some noise isolating headphones, since I’m quite the music lover as well. I decided to go for the sansa e280, which seemed perfect for the classical music I usually listen to. I has been one of the most inspired purchases, and it allows me to read in peace and also listen to Mozart. What more could I ask for?

Actually, I’ve started liking it so much that I don’t even have a book with me when going to my “reading” place. I just stay there listening to music and watching the children play. That’s really something for me, because, in the past, I would have never left home without a book in my bag.
