A Kiss At Midnight July 14, 2010

A Kiss at Midnight tells us a simple story of the triumph of true lovers in the times of adversity. It tells us to believe in the power of love, like people have been doing since lost past. The movie has its moments but it is more of a romantic movie than a romantic comedy. You yourself can guess the story. Two people who are made for each other, they finally meet, love seems to be in the air, then something catastrophic happens and then the mending of heart begins.

Directed by Bradford May, this sure shot blockbuster has solely one purpose and that is to instill the faith and love in the heart of unbelievers. It tells us that true love has and will always win no matter the odds it is against. A Kiss at Midnight is also peppered with strong and delightful acting performances and when the script is also taken into account, it becomes a complete entertainer.

The leading characters of the movie are Susan Flowers and Josh Sherman. While Susan runs a dating agency. But the greatest irony of her life is that she herself is single and is out looking for a guy.

While Josh, has just started moved into the town. He is a widower and has two daughters who are very lonely since the death of their mother and are out looking for a girl who can keep their father and them happy. Oh yes, Josh also runs a dating agency that uses the new age technology by making the computer doing the match making.

The computer works and works till it gives the inevitable result. Josh and Susan are meant to be together. They meet a few times to decide if it is actually true or not. And it is indeed true. Both of them have the same choices and dislikes; it seems a pair made in heaven until their respective professions are disclosed. All hell breaks loose since they are arch rivals, and then begins the story of mending relationships. Where the daughters of Josh play a key role and finally they bring back the couple together.

The movie gets full marks on acting. With Faith Ford and Cameron Daddo the chemistry is perfect. They both have natural flair for the comedy and together they lit up the screen. It is impossible to think that how the movie would have fared without these two together. Not to forget the daughters, Jadin Gould and Abigail Mavity look adorable together and carry off the required work with utmost sincerely and perfection.

Over all this movie is a must watch for the people of all ages. It is light hearted and fun. It is one of those romantic movies where you would cry because of laughing!
