Since the rating measures the watts per channel, you also need to pay attention to the rating when you are choosing a good receiver. After all, a higher rating does not necessarily follow that your receiver is good.
A good home theater receiver should have low distortion levels, low power rating, a good price, a guaranteed warranty and it must be compatible with your home theater.
