South Park: Bigger, Longer And Uncut: Our dynamic four are in top form in the first feature length film of the TV series. There is a new movie at the theater, a Terrence and Phillips film, and the boys are off to see it. When they arrive at the theater they can’t get in because of the R rating. They overcome this obstacle by paying off a street drunk to get the tickets for them. This is the boy’s first real intense introduction to foul language. They leave the movie fully trained in the new words, and use them whenever they can. This leads to outrage from the parents. Since Terrence and Phillip are Canadian, this ends with the US and Canada going to war.

The Pink Panther: Steve Martin tries to duplicate the magic that Peter Sellers put into the part of Inspector Jacques Clouseau. This bumbling French detective seems to make a mess out of any situation he finds himself in. In spite of this he always ends up putting the criminals behind bars.

Promises Promises: Horrible comedy in regards to couples Mansfield-Noonan and McDonald-Hargitay, and their sensual shenanigans on a voyage. It is famous in its night for Jayne’s baring her body, a first for its time. Still, take heed: it is a genuinely poor film. Cast includes Jayne Mansfield, Marie McDonald, Tommy Noonan, Mickey Hargitay, Fritz Feld, Matjorie Bennett, and Imogene Coca. (75 minutes,’63)

Border Shootout: Ignorant rancher is made deputy in Arizona boundary town that’s tired of aging sheriff Ford; however the townspeople’s lynching of supposed rustlers brings about instant conflict. Here is an excellent Western plot from the Elmore Leonard novel that is wrecked by amateurish production. Cast includes Cody Glenn, Jeff Kaake, Glenn Ford, Elizabeth Rohovit, Michael Horse, Russell Todd, Michael Ansara, and Michael Forrest. (110 minutes,’90)

Roll Bounce: A group of skate-admiring adolescents on Chicago’s South Side have to prove themselves to the snobs on the other side of town while their local skating rink closes, all when facing the pleasures and pangs of growing up. As craze-based coming of age films go, this is a notch or two underneath Saturday Night Fever and an advancement over Roller Boogie. Cast includes Droop Wow, Chi McBride, Mike Epps, Wesley Jonathan, Kellita Smith, Meagan Excellent, and Tim Kazurinsky. (112 minutes, 2005)

Flubber: Absent-minded professor Phillip Brainard is working on a revolutionary discovery. When he finally succeeds, the world is introduced to and incredible gooey substance called Flubber. When applied to almost anything, the effect is to massively increase the rebounding qualities of the object, seemingly defying gravity.

The Air I Breathe: Four overlapping, connect the dots story lines, based on a Chinese proverb and titled “Cheerfulness,” “Delight,” “Grief,” and “Love,” make up this mess of a film. Starts out promisingly, as a disgruntled office android Whitaker unintentionally figures out that a horse race has been fixed, then it inexplicably shits into a cartoon like train wreck. Cast includes Kevin Bacon, Julie Delpy, Brendan Fraser, Andy Garcia, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Clark Gregg, Emile Hirsch, Woodland Whitaker, Kelly Hu, Evan Parke, Taylor Nichols, Winner Rivers, and Jon Bernthal. (97 minutes, 2008)
