Background Of Mickey Mouse July 26, 2010
Most of us have seen that as the days are passing by, the craze for Mickey Mouse is increasing, but we never think about the evolution of this particular cartoon character. We should try to find out the exact time when this was invented. One of the earliest cartoons is known as Steamboat Willie. This was released in 1928 and was the 3rd Mickey Mouse Cartoon.
This particular cartoon was premiered in New York and was an instant hit. Walt Disney and Ub I werks wrote and directed the film, imitating Steamboat Bill Jr. The music in this particular film was given by Wilfred Jackson who was an animator of Disney.
Popular songs included ‘Steamboat Bill’ and ‘Turkey in the Straw’. There have been a number of controversies relating to the copyright of the film, although recent evidence suggests that issues relating to the original copyright may in fact, place ‘Steamboat Willie’ in the public domain. The film is selected for preservation in the United States Film registry and was voted number 13 out of the 50 Greatest Cartoons of all time.
The censors started to notify several things during the past days. The first thing that was founded by the censor was the pulling of the tail of a cat by Mickey Mouse. There were many other things that came into their notice among which one was related to the bagpipes. They played an important role in the DVD’s of Walt Disney.
It was also released with the name of the DVD title named as Vintage Mickey. It was a collection of Black and White Mickey Mouse cartoons. As there are varieties of Mickey Mouse based toys and games invented these days, it was really hard to believe that Mickey would be seen in a video game.
This was released for the Super Nintendo games console, but also made it onto the Sega CD and Sony Play stations. In the Disney game Kingdom Hearts II a ‘Steamboat Willie’ inspired and themed world feature period versions of the characters. It is pretty amazing that a 1928 cartoon, primitive as it appears now, could have spawned such a market for Mickey Mouse Toys and other items.
