If you are looking to take a vacation and want to get away, then you may want to look into taking a cruise aboard of a major cruise ship. Some of the big cruise lines that are out there are Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Disney, Princess along with many others.

Many cruises will stop at ports, so make sure that you have a passport handy so that you will be able to go offshore. Along with the port stops, many offer guided exertions, so if there is a particular place that you always wanted to visit, then you may be able to arrive there in a cruise ship.

If you like to tan or like to swim, you can enjoy sparkling swimming pools that are usually located on the sun deck. For those that want to relieve muscle tension there are massages available, along with hot tubs and saunas on most cruises.

Fitness centers along with personal trainers are also very common on board a cruise ship. You would be surprised how many people take part in fitness while sailing across oceans and seas. Many of these fitness centers have cardio classes that you can choose to participate in also.

A big one that can be found on all major cruise lines except for Disney and a couple of others are casinos. Gambling is illegal in almost all of the United States, but once the cruise ship gets a certain distance out in the ocean, the casino will open, usually stay open 24 hours for those that want to test their luck.

You will be able to spoil yourself with delicious foods, as major cruise lines only hire some of the best chefs around. There is plenty of dining and some cruises may even offer you room service straight to your cabin, so you can wake up with fresh coffee and eggs.

Every cruise ship has their own type of activity at night time, from fireworks and parades, to dancing at night clubs. Fully stocked bars for those that are old enough to drink, and other clubs that have specific themes will vary from cruise line to cruise line.

So if you want to go on a cruise for a specific activity, make sure that you call in advance and ask as many questions as possible. For instance if you want to go on a cruise to gamble, then Disney Cruise Lines would not be the right choice for you.
